Linking photos

Just trying out the Gallery-Link plugin I found on MT Plugin, which is really indispensable for any serious users of Movable Type. This plugin creates links from Movable Type to thumbnails on your :gallery: – if one is available. Lastly, the Process Tags plug-in is also required.

This is one of my favourite images from my most recent trip to Paris.

Memory lane

According to this article on Wired.com, a collection of more than 12 million historic photographs, capturing scenes from the Boer War to the D-Day landings, has been published on this digital archive. The images have been captured from the archives of the British Pathe newsreel (35mm film).

If you ask me, here is a real wealth of historical information preserved, hopefully, for perpetuity!

Killer app?

When I discovered weblogs a little over a year ago, I thought it was just another creative idea, born on the internet and, as usual, free for the inquisitive souls to try out. However, the more I blog, and the more I read about weblogs, the more I can see them as offering alternative avenues of information and opinions.

Now it seems that the technology that drives the popularity of blogging moves even more into the limelight.

Which photo album?

Lately have been looking at upgrading/changing my photo album software. To be sure, I cannot actually find any major faults with what I am using now, which is :gallery:. Just me getting itchy fingers again.

The two contenders are actually

  1. :gallery:
  2. Coppermine photo gallery

Howto's

Happened to see on TV about this (in my opinion) very interesting website called HowStuffWorks which contains tonnes of info on, well, how things work!
