Small Singapore

Had another amusing incident over the weekend which accentuated once again the “smallness” of Singapore.

For the past few days, I have been looking for a flat to move into rather urgently. As for why I needed to move after having <a href="”>moved recently, that is another long story…

Projection

Just had this flash of genius on the way to work. The thought came as I saw some students walking to the bus (the internal bus on the campus of NUS) stop. I was thinking to myself: most of the students, come exam time, will probably feel that they have the most insurmountable problems in the world, life is hell, etc.

But wait till they leave school, and enter the REAL world… 🙂

Learning

How true!

“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.”

Albert Einstein

Compassion

How often we forget the trials along our own journeys when we criticise others for their lackings…

“Some of the shells that wash up on the beach were once very beautiful. We don’t know what kind of journey they had to take to get them in their fragile condition. The same is true for people. Be kind.”

Linda Gifford

Continuing assessment

Not too long ago, I decided to have a go at upgrading my website. My original idea was simply to remove some elements on my page which depended on Javascript, to improve on the CSS design and then to possibly replace the trusty :mt: with a PHP-based system. Unfortunately, I did not get further beyond installing the engines (b2evolution and :wp:), porting of all the entries in my current blog using the tools supplied and played a little with the administration panel.
