Shaking off the dirt

In this morning’s edition of a newsletter which I subscribe to, there is a story about a donkey which I found very interesting. It goes like this:

One day a farmer’s donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally he decided the animal was old and the well needed to be covered up anyway, it just wasn’t worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.

Howto's

Happened to see on TV about this (in my opinion) very interesting website called HowStuffWorks which contains tonnes of info on, well, how things work!

Free-ness

No, there is no spelling error in the title of this entry. And yes, there is no such word, but the choice was deliberate.

Free is such a pervasive and yet often mis-used word. For example, in accounting there is the term free cash. This certainly does not mean free cash for the taking, as in free beer! Instead this term means a sum which has not been committed, available for various purposes, an abundance of, etc.

Conundrum

Is it possible that as a person achieves more and more, that same person can feel less and less adequate at the same time?

Sorry, don’t have the answer to this one. But sure is a good chance for using this long word!
