According to Wikipedia, typography is
“is the art and technique of setting written subject matter in type using a combination of fonts, font size, line length, leading (line spacing) and individual and overall letter spacing.”
Quite a mouthful. And having written many technical papers and reports as well as writing online, I can personally say that it is no mean feat.
With the release of the new The Da Vinci Code movie, the interest in Dan Brown’s novel of the same title is simply phenomenal.
As another nice example of what is possible with Web 2.0, some creative minds has actually created a Da Vinci Tour and Da Vinci Code Map, both based on Google Maps. This is what is known as a mashup (of Web 2.0 technologies, that is) in Geek-speak. This means from now on you can actually navigate to all the key locations mentioned in the novel. Cool!

Let’s face it, once you started to blog, as I did almost 4 years ago, you are creating an online persona which sooner or later can be traced back to the you in the real world. In places where free speech is heavily discouraged (whether openly or subtly in so-called democratic countries, but let’s not go there just yet…), this is just asking for trouble. Well, it seems that now there are in fact resources for people looking to post online without fear of having their identity exposed: Anoniblog.
Was over at the WordPress Theme Browser the other day, looking for nothing in particular. Then I noticed that there seems to be a lot of new and nice-looking :wp: (even AJAX-enabled) themes available. Time to change, I reckon. Expect to see some changes either around here or in one of the sub-blogs in the near future!
