Adventure

I will be in Europe for the next two weeks, starting next week. In view of the upcoming trip, the following seems a rather appropriate reminder:

“It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.”

Surprise

Was very pleasantly surprised this afternoon when I received a reply email from a long lost friend – I was in fact worried that the email address I have is no longer valid. It felt so good to hear from someone whom you thought you had lost contact with.

Second best

Was chatting with my sister the other day. I made the remark that, for young kids, it may not be so good if they are the best among their peers all the time. My reason is that, once they get too accustomed to that feeling, it will be that much harder to handle and accept set-backs in future.

New faces

Created a new identity for myself - a new 'face' really - last night.
