Was in the middle of a searching online when I stumbled on to Wikipedia, a free online encyclopedia. The significance and the magnitude of this project can only be grasped once you realise that the contributions to this great body of knowledge all come from ordinary people who venture on to the electronic realm – in short, people like you and me.

This project has been implemented using wiki. For those who don’t know what a wiki is, here is a very concise definition from the inventor himself:

From the same link, “A Wiki is a piece of server software that allows users to freely create and edit Web page content using any Web browser.” In short, a wiki is like an online bulletin board where you can freely contribute your thoughts and ideas and where “open editing” and “collaborative editing” can truly take place.
