Was looking for some information about Canada tonight (or should it be this morning!?!? 😉 ) since I will be heading out there in a few days’ time. Just out of curiosity, I decided to get some information about driving in Canada.
However, it occurred to me that I didn’t even know which side of the road the Canadians drive on! Well, like any internet-literate person, I Googled… In fact, while my first thought was how ridiculous the idea was, I decided to use the keywords “drive canada right side” nevertheless. Guess what? There were quite a few hits, as it turned out.
Here’s a couple: Which side of the road do they drive on? and Why don’t we drive on the same side of the road around the world?. I am sure everyone will find the reasons behind driving on the left/right side of the road quite enlightening.
Sometimes, when I sit down and think about this, it seems that many of our habits have been shaped by the advent of the internet. Nowadays, for myself, and no doubt many others, the first source of information is almost always the internet. Convenience is definitely a plus. At the same time, it is also quite amazing that you can find all sorts of things on the internet.
Well, let’s hope that in future, search engines, apart from unearthing a wealth of information, are also able to deliver RELEVANT information.
